Terms of Service

LocalIsLekker is an online marketplace that connects shoppers with independent South African farms and producers, and with local transporters who deliver orders. We provide the platform; the farms are the sellers of the goods and the transporters provide the delivery service.

You must provide accurate information and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be 18 or older to buy or sell on the marketplace.

• Prices are set by individual farms and are shown in South African Rand (ZAR), including VAT where applicable.
• Because produce is seasonal and weight-based, small variations in availability, weight and final price can occur; we will let you know before charging for any material change.
• An order is confirmed once you receive confirmation from us. We may decline or cancel an order (for example, if an item becomes unavailable) and will refund anything already paid.

Orders are delivered on your area’s scheduled route day by a vetted local transporter. Delivery windows are estimates. Please make sure someone can receive perishable goods, or that a safe drop-off is arranged.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details. You authorise us (and the provider) to charge the total shown at checkout, including delivery.

Because most items are fresh and perishable, they are generally exempt from the standard cooling-off period under the Consumer Protection Act. If something arrives damaged, spoiled or incorrect, contact us within 24 hours with a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Sellers are responsible for the quality, safety, labelling and legal compliance of the goods they list (including any food-safety requirements). Transporters are responsible for handling goods appropriately and delivering on schedule. Commission and payout terms are set out in your seller or transporter agreement.

You agree not to misuse the marketplace, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

We provide the platform “as is” and do our best to keep it accurate and available. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under South African law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
